Team Breakaway! 1992s win TORHS National Title

Congratulations to the Team Breakaway! Mites, who brought home the National Championship crown at last months’ National Championships in Rochester, NY July 10-16. Team Breakaway! emerged from a competitive field of 18 teams at the championships, beating out runners-up St. Louis Tour Blast and third-place finisher Greensboro Generals.

TB’s Andrew Tegeler was named tournament MVP, while Dominic Racobaldo was named MVD.

The 1992 squad was one of eleven Team Breakaway! squads who made it to nationals. The Senior squad also placed in the top three in its division, taking home the third-place bronze medal.

Amazingly, immediately after the TORHS championships were complete, three squads (1988s, 1989s and 1990s) left directly for the NARCH championships. The 1990s finished fifth from a field of 28 teams, while the 1989s made it to the quarterfinals in their division. Unfotunately, they were eliminated by the Team Breakaway! 1988s! The 1988s went on to finish third overall.
