The Warriors keep winning! They even pulled off a 3-3 tie against a strong Malvern Prep team (current No. 4 in our AAA Rankings). Undefeated at 9-0-2 through mid-January and outscoring their division opponents by about 5 to 1, they remain the definitive No. 1 entering the stretch run.

Just one loss on the season for the Indians, who are holding strong at 8-1-0. Since the last installment of the “A” rankings they ran off wins against Kennett and Sun Valley at a combined score of 15-3.

Posting three shutouts in their last four games, the Vikings are solidifying their position as one of the teams to beat this year. With only 14 goals allowed in 12 games overall, even the better offensive teams must be shaking their heads at the prospect of playing these guys.

At 8-0-2, the Cougars have been almost unbeatable in the defensive zone. They've allowed just 11 goals in 10 games, including shutout wins against Haverford, Conestoga and Lower Merion (twice).

The Knights are winless in their last three games. Losses to Downingtown East and Avon Grove had them reeling and the 1-1 tie with Downingtown West was also a letdown.

The Fords seemed to drift after their 6-4 win against Radnor. They dropped three straight Central League games but got back on the winning track with a 9-0 shutout against Lower Merion. Haverford faces a surging Radnor squad in a rematch on Jan 22.

The Trojans rebounded amid some trouble with a win against Methacton. Hershey is 8-2-1 in CPIHL play, and recently skated to a 3-3 tie against Palmyra. Still strong.

The Tigers took a pounding from Conestoga, 10-0, while giving up 55 shots. Was that game a fluke? The haven’t lost since, tying Penncrest and Garnet Valley (two wins they probably should have had), while beating Radnor 4-3 in their most recent game.

A 10-0 thrashing of Plymouth Whitemarsh was just what the Warriors needed after having their heads handed to them by AA Downingtown East 11-3. Methacton's remaining schedule is as tough as anyone’s in Class 'A'.

Hailing from one of the smallest schools in the six leagues, the Pirates may be making their first-ever appearance in the Breakaway! Rankings. (We'll check the archives on that, but in the meantime, here is a photo gallery from their early-season match with Holy Cross.) They are sitting at 11-6-3 in the South Jersey Varsity Division, good for fourth place. Recently, they tied powerhouse Moorestown (16-1-2) and defeated Cherokee, outshooting the current No. 6 in our AA Rankings by 36-12. The Pirates have lost only once in their last nine contests.
Dropped out: W.C. East (last: 9th)
On the cusp: Radnor, Wissahickon
