AAA Rankings 2-1-05
1- Germantown Acdy Undefeated so far with big wins over O’Hara and Malvern. Will this
mark GA’s first Flyers Cup since they won it back-to-back in 1994 and ’95?
2- LaSalle Haven’t lost since
opening day against O’Hara. The Explorers handed Malvern their first loss
of the season.
3- Malvern Prep Someone
will have to dig deep into their history books to find the last time Malvern
lost two in a row in league play. The Friars dropped two straight to LaSalle
and GA while struggling to find the net.
4- Cardinal O’Hara O’Hara could be this years sleeper. Everyone will be
focused on the top three teams, O’Hara may be able to pull off
a post season upset. They already beat LaSalle this year.
5- Archbishop Wood .Wood hasn’t won a game in three straight AAA games. The
loss to Bonner was the most surprising. They lost Rob Gray for 30 days. That
suspension will cover the rest of the season.
6- Archbishop Carroll Carroll went 1-3-0 in January, beating Wood
while dropping games to Shanahan, GA and O’Hara. The 3-3 tie with
Malvern was big, but the inconsistent Patriots need to get some momentum going.
7- Holy Ghost Prep Still haven’t found there groove.
They hung tough against Malvern in a 4-2 loss. Tied Wood and dropped one to O’Hara. LBCSHL title is still
within reach.
8- Monsignor Bonner It was quite
a month for the Friars. Scoring wins against Haverford, Wood, Ryan and Judge. They also
pulled out a 3-3 tie with Arch rival Cardinal O’Hara.
9-St. Joe’s Prep I know they played a AA schedule, but they have played O’Hara and Bonner. They edged Bonner 2-1 in mid-November. They
will have the #12 seed in the AAA Flyers Cup.
10- Bishop Shanahan Two wins in January against Bonner and Carroll have given the Eagles
some much needed momentum. They will need to find some scoring punch as their
leading goal scorer has a mere three goals
AA Rankings 2-1-05

team turned it up to steal the #1 spot.

January. Previously undefeated the Minutemen dropped two in a row to Cherokee
and Moorestown.

contests they outscored, CB East, Pennridge and Rock
South by a combined 17-1.

Pennsbury this month. Four of their five losses are to AAA teams,
the other was to Pennsbury earlier in the season.

Falcons go 2-4-0. They split the season
series with Haverford High, while going 2-1-0 against Neshaminy. .
6- Neshaminy Losses to Pennsbury and Tennent kept Neshaminy from climbing higher in the
rankings. They do lead the LBCSHL down the stretch run..
7- Central Dauphin Still just one loss for the Rams.
They close out with a tough schedule that includes Hershey and Lower Dauphin.
8- Cherokee Sitting at 12-2-2 in SJHSIHL play with a big win against Township. They
should be invited to the dance, how will they fare?

Abington, Tennent, Paul VI, Cherry Hill East, Rancocas Valley, Conestoga, Council Rock
South or Bishop McDevitt
A Rankings

about to see their undefeated season end against C.B. South. Chris Moore scored with less than 20
seconds left to preserve the tie.
2- Penncrest Penncrest
had a good test against Moorestown. Could we see these two in
the Flyers Cup finals?
3- Springfield Springfield will also test themselves against Moorestown in a pre-Flyers Cup
exhibition game. The Cougars are hot lately, but are without starting goalie Wertman for a while.
4- Moorestown Finished the season 17-1-0, with the only loss
coming at the hands of Cherry Hill East, 5-4. The Quakes skated to a 6-6 tie in
an exhibition game against Penncrest.

of the CPIHL. They will have a chance to avenge their only loss of the season,
against Hershey on Friday the 4th.

teams that they could have beaten in Warwick and Hempfield.
We will see if they can return to form against LD.

has slowed a little over the past two months. They’ve dropped four of their
last five, but have a favorable schedule down the stretch.

against A and AA teams. Their only loss came at the hands of AAA St. Joseph’s.
The Buc’s stingy D and goaltending are yielded only
two goals per game.

hovering around .500 in the tough Central division. Will they make it to the
Flyers Cup? If being the two time defending State champs means anything, they
should be able to defend that title.
10- Downingtown East East requested
to be considered for the AA Flyers Cup. They are 7-3-0 against AA competition
this season, will they make it?
